We came to Calabogie for a family wedding on Sunday but came early to take in the beautiful scenery. We walked the eagles nest trail. We fished on Calabogie lake and had a campfire. What a wonderful chalet. We'll have to come up in the winter.

We wanted to say how much we appreciated staying your chalet, and the small touches such as things you might forget; the area information; wonderful variety of videos for evening; being incredibly well appointed; the friendliness and helpfulness of your neighbor; and a spice rack! - all added to the welcome you afford to your visitors and the homeliness we felt.

We did leave behind a couple of things - purposely left the ice cream for the next visitors to enjoy, and accidentally our freezer pack, which must only mean that we will be back for another stay sometime!

Cannot stress enough how perfect your cottage was for all of us!

I have been raving about it to everyone at work, we had the best time. I was shocked at the well stocked cottage and all of the little extras like the thanksgiving napkins, wine and pumpkin at the door you left behind.

We are already planning our thanksgiving 2008 with you. It rained quite a bit but no one seemed to notice with the cozy woodstove and all of the dvd's and magazines that were there.

P.S. everything was good at the lodge. Notice to other people that ask you about ATVing, there are many trails out of Calabogie and right from your cottage. There are also a lot of trails around Black Donald lake. Those are the trails that we wish to explore further.

Thank you for the wonderful opportunity of renting the chalet this past weekend.  It was exactly the relaxing getaway that Earl and Nathan and I needed.  Unfortunately the weather was not the warmest but we still made it down to the dock daily to teach the little guy how to fish and to sit and relax. 

The chalet itself was very nice and all the room that we needed.  We will check back with you shortly for winter availability.  We might take a look at the other chalet too.  We are looking for a weekend getaway in the winter with our family and our stepchildren.

 We wanted to let you know that our stay at Peaksview Chalet from Feb 23-25 was fantastic.

The chalet was more than we ever imagined. Not only was it clean and well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, but the view and the sunlight that streamed through the large open windows was phenomenal.

We enjoyed our time playing some of the board games in the chalet, hiking on local trails, and building warm fires in the woodstove. We found our stay incredibly relaxing and comfortable. We are eager to return to your chalet over the next year to enjoy the area throughout the different seasons.

Thank you very much for renting your chalet to us and offering us a little haven away from the city. You'll definitely hear from us again, as we find ourselves already trying to plan our next getaway...

It was fantastic! One of the comments upon arrival was, " it is even more beautiful than the pictures", and truly is is a special place. I overcame my apprehension and even tried downhill skiing once again, after viewing the hill all week how could I not try it.

Jim and I enjoyed the tranquility for the week and the group of women who arrived on Friday had nothing but praise for the beauty of the location and of the chalet.

We most certainly will return if you will have us and will recommend your home to our friends.

We absolutely loved the place...it was so quiet and peaceful...just what we needed. 

 
Boy, when you said everything is included except for linen, towels and food, you weren't kidding!!!  We were touched by the Christmas decorations, lights and the "Welcome" gift.  They were a wonderful surprise.
 
Scott was happy to find the axe in the basement...he was in his element chopping extra kindling and smaller chunks for the woodstove.  We kept it going for the whole time we were there because of the weather.
 
We definitely intend to go back...this time with the gang (our 4 teenaged/young adult children) if they can swing it.  How fast does it book up in the summertime?
 
I have already been telling lots of people about your wonderful chalet.

The area around the chalet is great. It stopped raining long enough for us to do the short hike up to Eagle's Nest - the view was amazing! I thought the chalet was very clean (cleaner than our house!) and the whole system of booking, getting the keys etc. could not have been more well organized. Trevor is already talking about wanting to come back and go skiing one weekend over the winter.

Thanks very much for all the effort taken to make our stay at Peaksview Chalets a really pleasant one.  The chalet itself is a dream!  It's beautifully designed and decorated, and truly equipped with everything we might have needed.  The kids loved the spiral stairs and their loft bedroom, not to mention the beach, while we older folks appreciated the quiet, natural setting (with every modern convenience at our disposal), and the proximity to the Ottawa area (I'm still a city girl at heart...).
 
So thanks again, we'll be sure to keep Peaksview in mind, and to recommend the chalet to anybody we know who is planning on traveling in the area.

Thanks for renting us your cottage, we had a great week!

We enjoyed playing many of the games you had at the cottage. Our eldest is just old enough now to play along, we bent the rules a little for Sarah the 4 year old!

Calabogie beach was nice, we rented a kayak for a day, I spotted a loon, a turtle and a Blue Heron. We enjoyed visiting Burnstown (I had to get my cafe au latté fix).

We got all dressed up to go to the Duck restaurant on Tuesday night to find out they are closed on Tuesdays, so we ate in Renfrew.

So we'll have to come back to eat at the Duck sometime!

The chalet was a real treat again this year! The weather was perfect and the ski conditions the best we have had at Calabogie. Packing is a lot easier when you don’t have to bring all the extras. The kids really enjoyed the movies and games in the evening. The wood stove was warm and cozy in the evening.

We enjoyed our three days at your chalet immensely.  The weather wasn't the greatest, raining quite a bit, but the chalet is lovely and made the indoor time very enjoyable and comfortable.
 
We arrived to find the cottage very clean and welcoming.  We had no problem locating anything and all worked perfectly-the woodstove, the dishwasher (wonderful!), stove, bbq, water cooler (fantastic!), plenty of hot water, etc.  I could tell that you enjoyed the cottage very much yourself and wanted to have everything set up to ensure the pleasantest of stays for those who rent your cottage. 

Thank you.  The choice of wines was a surprise and welcome touch.  The cottage is quiet and private, in fact we seldom saw anyone.

 
The surrounding area is beautiful.  Such a lovely view from the front of the cottage.  We were able to enjoy several of the trails when it wasn't raining, including the Eagle's Nest-wow!!!  To think that we didn't even realize there was a Calabogie in our province until I found your site.  So glad that we discovered you and the area.

We had a wonderful time and are already talking about when we can go back. The chalet is quite perfect. Really, I can't think of anything that would make the chalet any more perfect. It's very well stocked. We enjoyed the Lego and children's puzzles too with our 2 year old, and she became very attached to the little white stuffed bear. It made for a very friendly place to call home for a week. Thank you.

We loved Peaksview Chalet, it was a perfect getaway from Ottawa. One of us commuted to work and the drive was a breeze.

Chalet is incredibly well laid out and even better equipped – just bring food and everything you have at home is already there (and more!). The deck was nice, large and perfect for star gazing at night. Chalet is really close to amazing hiking trails and is really close to the beach.

We cannot wait to come back in the winter and again next summer! Everything was exactly like it looked on the pictures and even better!

Hi Randy, everything was wonderful at the chalet and the skiing was superb. I cannot think of anything that I would suggest to change as I feel the chalet is well equipped and has a nice homey atmosphere.

I am back to reality (work) now after my stay at Peaksview Chalet. It is a wonderful spot and my family enjoyed it thoroughly. The skiing was great. There is nothing but good I can say, everything was at our disposal

 

We had a wonderful trip...  The four of us enjoyed our stay very much! A very relaxing (emphasis on the "x" zzzzz) weekend. Weather was excellent.  Accommodations we're great! We were all very impressed, and some of the women in the group are hard to impress :) :)

Had a great time at your chalet. We found it very nice with the open concept and cathedral ceilings. The furniture complimented and gave a nice atmosphere.

Had a great BBQ on Friday night with great cuts of steaks.

We spent Saturday on the lake and caught 6 walleye and on Sunday 7 walleye. ( best part )
 

I want to thank you for renting me the chalet and look forward to doing it again.

First of all - I will congratulate you for being able to setup and maintain the Chalet so wonderfully. It was a real pleasure seeing such a nice place you have.

Everything was taken care of. If someone really needed something while there - they would find it. I never expected that we will find a electric hand mixer (we needed for making the pancake mix from scratch). Lo and behold - we found it.

We really enjoyed your place - and you bet - we will be back some other time for sure.

We all had a great time at your Chalet. Everyone was quite impressed with the cleanliness, size, and amenities provided. It certainly was a great help with water and other household supplies (paper towels, cutlery, plates, glasses, etc) being provided. As it was, our vehicle was packed to the brim with food, clothes and other things we needed during the week.

All in all,  we would love to come back someday and spend another relaxing week.  Weather was great when we were there so we couldn't ask for more.  Oh, and the Duck restaurant at the Lodge was fantastic (we decided to give ourselves a break from cooking and cleaning on our last night there), great food.  Thanks for a great week.

Randy: the gals and I are already planning a third visit to Peaksview, next winter. This is becoming an annual retreat for us: we call it the Spa-de-dah retreat (which is mostly just lah-de-dah talk for a weekend without husbands, computers, pets'n'kids--you know the drill!).

Arriving for our second visit was like coming home.

You and your co-owner(s) have done a lovely job and I hope you get to spend as much time there as you want, too!

On Sunday morning after the big snowfall, two of us went outside to shovel. I had done half the driveway when someone came and plowed the rest. Now, Peaksview is so well equipped that I was sure the lane would be blown clear by someone you hired, but the snow was so light and the morning so engaging that we just had to get out and do something in it.

 

I just wanted to let you know that everything was WONDERFUL last week at the chalet. I love to cook and your kitchen was just perfect to feed three hungry skiers! All of the little extras were what made the difference. ( the well equipped kitchen, videos, stereo etc.) The view out our front window allowed me to watch the guys as they skied. They would radio me and I could grab the binoculars, (another nice touch!) and I would watch them come down! As I said, I logged a lot of time in there last week and it really couldn't have been more comfortable. We look forward to renting from you again.

We had a great time last weekend. Love the place. looking forward to returning in February.

The Chalet was more than I had expected. We had a wonderful time with the brisk winter days, the beautiful views and all the amenities of home. You really do have a wonderful place here. Thanks again and I am sure you will hear from us again in the future.

 

We had a great time. The chalet is very charming and the view is lovely. We even went skiing! My friends are already talking of returning next year – early February 2003.

 

We had a great time here this past weekend and also enjoyed two days of Skiing! We will definitely be back!

By the way, thanks for the cottage it was a great weekend. You have a very nice and comfortable cottage, we were impressed. The view to the ski hill is really nice at night with the lights. We enjoyed an afternoon of downhill skiing and made it back to the cottage in approx 3 minutes.

The service was impeccable, everything was fine, new and functional. The chalet is very well located and maintained, we were enjoying every minute there. I will recommend the chalet to my colleagues and friends here in Toronto and also to our relatives and friends in Montreal. I’d like to come over there in the summer time too. Until then, thank you again and have a good and happy new year.

Thanks for the opportunity to stay at the Chalet. It was wonderful. The weather was spectacular, but I was almost hoping for some rain or snow so that we could stay inside where it was cozy and watch the rain.

I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful weekend - it was surreal. The view was just breath taking and the chalet was far better / more comfortable / prettier than I could every imagine. We couldn't be more thankful for your hospitality and hope to visit the chalet back soon. 

We enjoyed our stay at the Chalet this past weekend. The chalet was exactly what we expected, it was cozy and quaint; a perfect getaway not far from home. We would love to go back and stay again sometime.
